I campaigned for this program when I was poet laureate, and now I’m so honored to lead it for San Mateo County! The San Mateo County Youth Arts Ambassador Program recognizes outstanding young artists and cultural leaders who use the arts to strengthen communities. Through a year-long cohort experience, Ambassadors collaborate with one another, partner with local organizations, and develop public-facing arts and culture projects that engage residents around issues affecting youth and the broader community.
Thank you so much to the County Executive’s Office, especially Office of Arts and Culture Executive Director Robin Rodricks for their support. On a personal note, today is bittersweet as it is Robin’s last day at work. I wish to congratulate her on her well-deserved retirement, with so much gratitude for her friendship and her service to the County.
