Skyline College warmly invites the public to join a hands-on poetry workshop facilitated by San Mateo County Poet Laureate Emerita Aileen Cassinetto exploring how bodies of water connect across borders, communities, and cultures, and how art can help us see those connections in new ways. Using state statutes and treaty language and our own experiences, we’ll create collage poems that reflect our relationships to water, from the global to the deeply personal.
March 11 at 12:30pm, Skyline College, Bldg. 5, 2nd Floor
This workshop is offered in connection with Skyline College’s “The State of Water” exhibit, part of the Critical Global Citizenship Education project. In addition to the workshop, there will be a panel discussion on March 5th from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. in the library with representatives from the Association of Ramaytush Ohlone and Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency, as well as Willa Brock, Director of Collections & Interpretation at Filoli and curator of its “Blue Gold: The Power & Privilege of Water” exhibit.
“The State of Water” will remain on display for the rest of the semester.
