We’ve officially released The Nature of Our Times!
Huge thanks to David Hassler and Wick Poetry Center for organizing and hosting all the gatherings and launch events. Thank you so much to poets Barbara Sabol, Carrie George, Charlie Malone, Gabriela Igloria, Jeff Gundy, Jennifer Browne, Jessica Jones, Laura Grace Weldon, Neil Carpathios, Paula J. Lambert, Pauline Thornton, Ray McNiece, and RC Wilson, Cleveland Public Library, Kent State University, Each & Every, and the Kent community for their incredible support. We truly felt the love, Ohio!
We’re deeply grateful to all our contributors and supporters for believing in this project. For a time, this seemed to be all that remained of the National Nature Assessment. Now, it heralds United By Nature, a renewed effort by the scientists behind the NNA led by Dr. Phil Levin. This anthology is a reminder of what’s possible, and why poetry is a language big enough for the future we all hope to see.
Thank you to Phil, our honorary poet and rockstar of scientists, for standing with us at the launch. Thank you, David, who graciously welcomed us into the Wick family and whom Luisa and I proudly adopted as our Filipino brother. Thank you, Luisa, our paths keep returning to each other in meaningful ways.
David is representing us at today’s “Knowledge to Action: Ensuring Impact for the United By Nature Initiative” session at Climate Week NYC. The Nature of Our Times exhibit will be on view at Cleveland Public Library through April next year. Explore the project, the anthology, and upcoming events here:
