Registration is not required, but sign up if you’d like a reminder email! The event will feature readers from our Community Open Mic, an open mic series co-founded by Erika Bojnowski and Aileen Cassinetto in 2023.

SMC Climate Ribbon Celebration
Featuring SMC Poet Laureate Emerita Aileen Cassinetto & Lyrical Opposition
County Center
April 10, 12pm

Climate Ribbon is an interactive art installation encouraging participants to reflect on this central question: What do you love and hope to never lose to climate change? To celebrate this upcoming Earth Day, the San Mateo County Office of Arts & Culture and Sustainability Department are partnering to bring Climate Ribbon to San Mateo County. Throughout the month of April, Climate Ribbon will serve as a living installation in the County Center courtyard, where County employees and members of the public can share their responses to this question by writing on recycled ribbons and hanging these on a display.
