Submit your best haiku inspired by Filoli’s spring Garden! DEADLINE IS APRIL 14TH.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the contest, we are inviting work that highlights nature’s many generosities and the role it plays as a place for contemplation, joy, and healing. Please share your own personal and communal stories around Filoli’s Garden and the way it keeps us rooted and resilient. The special Ecopoetry Award will recognize a haiku that celebrates this theme while touching on the connection between humans and the environment.
The Filoli Haiku Contest was launched in 2020 in collaboration with Aileen Cassinetto, San Mateo County Poet Laureate Emerita. Categories include First Place, Second Place, Best Under 18, and the Filoli Ecopoetry Award. The top 10 poems are displayed as poetry installations in the Spring Garden.
Visit Filoli at 86 Cañada Road, Woodside (open daily 10am-5pm) or email info@filoli.org.
