I’m grateful to the editors of Consequence for publishing my poem “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” which will be read by José Edmundo Ocampo Reyes along with his piece “Letter to Topeka” at the Boston City Hall Civic Pavilion on November 12th, at 7pm EST. The event will be both in person and livestreamed.
“Let Me Call You Sweetheart” was first commissioned in January 2023 for the Manifest Differently Project by Kim Shuck and Megan Wilson to interrogate the history and legacies of Manifest Destiny.
