Today’s poetry reading by San Mateo County Poet Laureate Aileen Cassinetto at our Board meeting was so on point. It was on this day in 1776 that General George Washington read the Declaration of Independence to his troops in New York City. And that message and this poem, entitled “There are no Kings in America”, is even more relevant today. I hope you enjoy Aileen’s poem!
